Community For Christ, founded in 2003, is an outreach of Christian men and women dedicated to serving the Lord through services
to our community. We are self-supported, solely dependant on private donations and God's faithfulness to operate.
Each faithful volunteer donates financial, spiritual, or physical support to the outreach.
During the fall and winter months, (September - February), Atlanta and the surrounding counties experience a rise
of homeless persons within the city and traveling along its highways. Beginning about nine years ago, one
woman began making "care packages" and distributed them as needed. What started as a shoebox filled with a few food
items, toiletries, and a card of encouragement has grown to a 12x12x6 carepackage bearing several articles of clothing,
toiletries, prepackaged food with an emphasis on nutrition, a New Testament Bible, and a personal letter of encouragement. It's
purpose is to ease the burden and share God's abundant and endless love with those on the streets and highways of
Atlanta.
Organizations who have joined us in this effort are:
-Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, McDonough Georgia -Church Missions Project. Three fund
raisers to support this project are on the church's 2005 calendar to include: Jammin' for Jesus - making & selling homemade
jam, and participating in the Locust Grove Community Garage Sale spring 2005 and fall 2005.
-S.O.S. Bible Fellowship, Greenfield, Indiana -New Testament Bibles.
To date, they have contributed 100 Bibles to our outreach.
i_need_prayer_sos@yahoo.com Contact this website if you are in need of prayer. The group will pray for your need and will only contact you
if you request it.
-Back to the Bible, Lincoln Nebraska -donated 100 devotionals to our boxes.
Radio program can be heard locally on NEW LIFE FM 90.7 at 8:05 a.m. and 8:05 p.m.
A label bearing the name of each of these organizations goes on every box we distribute. Can you imagine
how you would feel to receive a box abundantly filled with the basic necessities of food and clothing and to also see
and realize how many people came together to supply this gift on your behalf? That's the love of Jesus!
We want to continue adding more labels to the boxes! Approximately 30 items go into every care package!
The above organizations have donated 100 of the same item. What if we could get 30 organiations to donated 100 of
a single item and have 30 labels affixed to every box? You can help us accomplish this! Tell your organization, club,
group, peers, fellow employees, etc about our mission and then contact us with a request for the items currently needed!
Design your own label to go on the boxes! Then volunteer to help us with distrubution! Let's be a community for Christ!
